Last night, a friend asked me for some ideas on dressing country, sweet, and innocent.  So I thought long and hard about it then spent way too long virtually shopping on the internet to come up with the following sets on Polyvore.

My inspiration mainly came from two things:

country-sweet-innocent-anthropologieAnthropologie

country-sweet-innocent-zooey-deschaneland Zooey Deschanel

And so, here are the little boards I came up with…

country-sweet-innocent-1Country, Sweet & Innocent #1

(I’m really loving the yellow top, peach sweater, taupe dress, and the red wedges!)

country-sweet-innocent-2Country, Sweet & Innocent #2

(Isn’t the dress fantastic!?  And the necklace?!  I want it!)

country-sweet-innocent-3Country, Sweet & Innocent #3

(A look that’s ALMOST professional.)

country-sweet-innocent-4Country, Sweet & Innocent #4

(Don’t be surprised if those skirts, glittery flats, and possible variations on those dresses show up in my wardrobe…)

country-sweet-innocent-5Country, Sweet & Innocent #5

(Too much to love – Love the coral dress, Love the floral headband, Love the maxi skirt, Love the ruffle dress!)

Good luck in your wardrobe revamping!!  And good luck to me trying not to buy all these items!!!

wroughtn-apples-wall1My cousin has a super cute little boutique in Colorado called Wrought’n Apples.  She has great stuff like aprons, home decor, baby stuff, kids stuff, dog stuff, clothing, jewelry, belts, purses, stationery, accessories – every time I see her, she’s got some awesome accessories on that I’m sure are straight from her store.  wroughtn-apples-cow-bagLast summer, we went to go visit it on our little road trip! I definitely bought some great additions to my wardrobe there.  Now I want a paper towel holder (kind of random).

If you could take a minute and vote for her shop for Best of the Best, I would be grateful!!

Remember these pretty pictures?  I especially loved this one:

Due to the fact that I am packing up and moving to Dallas in less than a month, I’m finding myself excited to pack everything up into the trunk of ONE CAR and go on a little 20 hour road trip to our summer home in Texas.

road-trip1All the details here.

This little arrangement has lovely outfits for travelling on the road!! Of course, I’d have my own little modifications…  Like buying a cheaper hat and embellishing it with ticking and a handmade flower.  Or making my own little Mexican frock (on the to-sew list this summer)…

Perhaps I can blame the snowy weather today, but I’m killing for some sunshine…

I saw that Ruby Press had similar feelings and fell in love with this photograph.

corrie-bond-2ccomau-summerSo I went to the photographer’s link and discovered a WHOLE LOAD of treasures.  Narrowing it down to these four extras was a difficult task.  Corrie Bond’s images embody summer.  A stylish summer.  Mmm.corrie-bond-2ccomau-tutu-color

In response to Coryn

1 | I HATE Ugg boots.  However, due to the sub-Arctic temperatures I experience in the winter, I have given in to wearing the ugg style boot.  BEST DECISION EVER.  I am much less scared to step outside knowing that I won’t suffer from instantaneous frostbite.

2 | I have never been a huge fan of the whole leggings underneath an almost knee length dress look, but I MIGHT possibly be warming up to the thought… Why?  I have no idea.  But I’m thinking that it is related to the DSquared2 fall fashion line.

3 | Currently, my greatest ambitions are to work at Anthropologie in the summer and Nordstroms in the fall.  I’m aiming high.  Oh, and to eventually have children named Betty (Elizabeth), Lily, James, [undecided girl name that is Japanese], and [a many syllabic boy name].

4 | I am in love with leopard print for unknown reasons.  My shopping list includes: leopard print flats, leopard print skirt (actually, that’s on my sewing list), leopard print cardigan, and leopard print scarf.  That is to add to my budding collection of a leopard print headband and a leopard print hair flower.  I would also accept a leopard print purse.

5 | If modesty weren’t an issue, the one thing I would love to wear would be wifebeaters.  You know, those trashy white tank tops you buy in a pack in the men’s section.  Yep.  I miss those.  Or perhaps this top from Anthropologie.  Beyond that, I’m completely satisfied.

I guess this turned into more of a “5 fashion faux pas I’m embarassed to admit that I like” (minus the “life ambition” thing)… But you know you love me anyways…

I’d also like to tag…

And… anyone else who stumbles upon this post.  Since I don’t have lots of blogging friends.

Last night, I FINALLY got to see this movie!! Brad and I went and checked out the new Cinemark theatre (compliments of Coryn – thanks!).  The movie had some unresolved or too quickly resolved issues that bothered me, but I loved the clothes and the relatability!!  There were lots of fun color combinations that have me rethinking the way I put clothes together – just in time for spring.  Also, a lot of the outfits were way over the top which makes for fun re-interpretations of the ideas.  Here are my three favorite outfits from the movie:

I’ve wanted one so bad for a long time.  So you can post a link too and if you don’t want it, give it to me. ;)

The other day, a marathon of Cycle 8 of America’s Next Top Model was on.  I especially loved this shoot:

America's Next Top Model

America's Next Top Model

I’m pretty sure this affected my summer wardrobe mentality… Hence why I’m coveting this outfit:

native-summer(See it at Polyvore here, more on my discovery of Polyvore in a second)

The outfit has both my high and low budget (according to MY wallet) gladiator sandals.  I also have this new experiment I’ve been meaning to try for two summers now – third time’s a charm – Turning strapless maxi dresses into maxi dresses with sleeves using either my impressive sewing skills or a cute t-shirt.  We’ll see how that one turns out.

And in case you haven’t seen Polyvore outfits on Omiru.com, where have you been!!!  I signed up to see how it works for this little outfit display and I AM CONVERTED and also probably ADDICTED!!! It’s SUPER easy to use, and you can make these awesome inspiration boards and it automatically links to where you got them from!!  I’m thinking of finding photos of clothes I own and making “inspiration boards” of outfits I can wear…

So, don’t be surprised if you see more Polyvore on my blog from now on!!

{ps – I can’t get the HTML code from Polyvore to work… does anyone know how to fix this?}

While watching America’s Next Top Model (Cycle with winner Jaslene), I was reminded of how much I love Sass & Bide’s tank dress for Net-A-Porter.com that supports breast cancer.

I’m loving the “the papparazzi caught me but I’m still chill” look going on at DSquared.  And I love the layers!!! I just want to print off all the pictures and hang them in my room to help me get dressed in the morning.
