EvaInStyleCoverFrom now on, I’m going to wait for all of my magazine subscriptions until Amazon.com has them…

$5?! Seriously, if I buy ONE issue in a year, this is worth it.

The email said this offer is good until September 26.  So BUY IT NOW!!

Why do I love InStyle? The layouts are easy to understand, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Rachel Bilson has her own little page that she does. I’m pretty much in love with her. Nothing too busy, the same awesome ads are still in it (D&G are my absolute favorite), and they do this cool red-carpet looks thing that is fun to see pictures of.

As previously stated on the blog, Martin + Osa is one of my favorite stores.  I just can’t help but love it, and can’t help but spend many dollars there…. So, with a limitless budget, here’s the first ten things I would pick up this fall…

Martin + Osa Top Ten Fall 09

Top Row, L-R:

1|Belted A-Line Corduroy Skirt, in Kettle Brown.  Tried it on, loved it, but had to postpone its purchase to a later date.

2|Slouchy Cowl Neck Sweater, in Mercer Burgundy (or Talon Grey). I’m trying to reintroduce COLOR into my wardrobe. And this sweater looks so cozy.

3|Mixed Gauge Cowl Neck Sweater, preferably in a cream color (of the online choices, Cricket Navy). Ooh the cream is pretty.  This would look great peeking out of my colder weather coats.

4|Silk Twist Neck Tee, in Whale Grey. One of Pantone’s fall colors, it just looks classy.

5|Boot Fit Jean, in Indigo Wash. Gotta love those dark wash boot cut pants.

Bottom Row, L-R:

6|Essential Cashmere-Silk Cardigan, in Talon Grey.  Every time I enter the store, I just love to touch their cardigans.  So soft.

7|Cajun Gladiator Heel.  Another shoe that makes me feel cooler for just looking at it.

8|Shadow Grid Silk Tank, in Ferry Orange (or Paige Purple).  The colors are great and I love the loose fit.

9|Cotton-Cashmere Belted Cardigan, in Cricket Navy.  Doesn’t this make you want to curl up with a book, hot chocolate, and the tv remote?

10|Slim Fit Jean, in Marine Rinse Wash. Still on a search for a great looking pair of slim jeans…

And, to top it all off, Martin + Osa now sells a candle of their signature scent.  Seriously, walking into their store is also an olfactory experience.  Mmmm… the fresh cabin smell… It’s amazing.  It makes me think of Christmas/winter/summer/spring/fall/happiness/coziness/nature/cabins/resorts.  Which is quite a combination.

gapThese are my dream boots in an outfit for this Gap Dress.

Do you know what they are?!  I can’t find them anywhere….

(is the picture showing up on your computer? it isn’t showing up on mine.)

Today’s Top Ten List is one I’ve been watching for weeks.  And, since the Christian Siriano for Payless collection debuted yesterday (it was up, then they took it down, then it was scheduled for September 8 so I waited all day for it to go online again), there isn’t a better time to share my budget-friendly choices from Payless Shoe Source.
Top Row, L-R:
1|Jamison Scrunch Bootie.  Loving this shoe.  A lot.
2|Christian Siriano for Payless Sandstrap Peep Toe, in Black.  If you read the real me, you’ve definitely seen this shoe already.
3|Lela Rose for Payless Mallory Suede Bootie. I love the blue color.  These would definitely be a great color for a boring black outfit.
4|Lela Rose for Payless Channing Peep Toe Flat. I’ve been watching these shoes all summer.  Now they’re on sale!!
5|Christian Siriano for Payless Satin Saunter Flat, in Teal. So colorful and pretty.  The Brown Patent pair is also very cute.
Bottom Row, L-R:
6|Karmel Pleated Wedge. Neutral but cute, I’m sure these shoes would get a lot of wear.
7|Koture Ruffle Peep Toe.  Who doesn’t want a pair of purple heels?
8|Christian Siriano for Payless Slither Boot.  I know I already have a pair of black ankle boots, but these ones are shiny, and pretty…
9|Dexter Morgan Snip-Toe Slingback. Also basic and pretty.
10|American Eagle Marley Flat Boot. In Utah, I feel like I can never have too many boots. I’m also leaning towards this much louder pair

Recently I received a comment asking what I thought about ModCloth and ThreadBanger. While I haven’t sufficiently researched ThreadBanger, I do have some familiarity with ModCloth. So I figured I would throw them in the Top Ten List.

Picks from ModCloth.

Top Row, L-R:
1| Batallion Jacket in Black. I’m loving this look.  Hands down my favorite item they have.
2|Little Sweetie Skirt.  This reminds me of the tutu-inspired skirt I wanted to make last Christmas.
3|Magen-tie Tunic.  So cute!
4|Fermina Dress.  Debatable whether I like it better in turquoise or coral.
5|Petite Bouquet Gloves. I love the almost vintage look!

Bottom Row, L-R:
6|Versailles Headband.  Simple and chic.
7|Go-Go Gadget Trench. I love these collars.
8|Better Than Basic Skirt in Warm Grey. This might be too short, otherwise it would’ve ended up higher in the rankings.
9|Chai Latte Dress. What’s not to love?
10|Independent Press Skirt in Denim.  I do wish this were a heavy navy fabric.

My ModCloth verdict?  Cute clothes, cute to look at for inspiration, but much too pricey for me to be shopping there (example, this jacket on ModCloth can be found cheaper at fredflare – and fredflare is usually more expensive).  The clothes remind me of Forever 21, but the prices remind me of something pricier than that.  Also, I hate shopping online because you can’t see/feel the quality of the fabrics and the workmanship.  I DO LOVE their Composition and Measurements – because they give you the actual widths and lengths of each size, but that’s not enough for me to drop 120 bones on the Chai Latte dress.

Anyone have any experience with ModCloth who can share your knowledge with me?
Unreal.  I wrote out this whole post then somehow, my computer-challenged self managed to delete the whole thing.  Luckily, it seems that I have written much better commentary this time around.
Here’s the deal, American Eagle has great ad campaigns and I like their clothes.
So… may I present, the top ten list from American Eagle.

AE Top Ten Fall 09

AE Top Ten Fall 09 by horito featuring American Eagle Outfitters

Top Row, L-R:

1|AE Leopard Ballet. I’ve been looking for some leopard flats for years.  Hopefully these ones are as comfy as they are cute!

2|AE Pinstripe Vest.  It’s just plain awesome.

3|AE Gladiator Sandal.  Perfect for summer-fall transitioning, perfect color, and on sale for twenty bucks!

4|AE Plaid Pintuck Tunic, in Rip & Repair Wash. It seems that when getting dressed lately, I’ve been searching for a plaid tunic in my closet.

5|AE Soft Moto Jacket. Over a year ago, I decided I wanted to make myself a motorcycle jacket out of sweatshirt fabric.  AE beat me to it.

Bottom Row, L-R:

6|Straight Jean, in Dark Indigo Wash.  Assuming these look as cute on me as they do on the model.

7|AE Rugby Stripe Knit Scarf, in Light Heather Grey. Here I go with my stripes again…

8|AE Striped Slim Cardigan, in Navy Heather.  Slightly preppy in an unobvious way.

9|AE Classic Oxford.  Like its name says – it’s classic.

10|AE Leggings, in Black.  Generally speaking, I’m not a fan of the whole leggings trend.  However, sometimes I do approve of black, ANKLE LENGTH leggings layered under dresses with flats or boots.

It’s {kind of} fall again… which has me wishing for cooler weather (as much as I love the summer, my outfit choices get… old after not being able to layer) and wishing for more dollars to shop for lovely new clothes.
Since I don’t have a bottomless wallet to spend on things, I’ve decided to compile sets of “top tens” that I WOULD buy if I had lots of free money to buy them with.
First up – Downeast Basics.

Downeast Basics Top Ten Fall 09

Narrowing it down to ten was definitely a challenge… but here they are (in the approximate order I would purchase them in).

Top Row, L-R:
1|Connect the Dots Dress, in yellow. This photo is from fredflare.com, and I’m 99% sure that they sell Downeast clothes at WAY more expensive prices in the cuter color options.
2|Intuition Top, color choice not certain yet.  This top reminds me of the Profiterole Top from Anthropologie this summer, but toned down.
3|Fine Line Turtleneck, in dark grey/cream.  I love the striped turtleneck look – perfect for layering.
4|Green Thumb Skirt – I fell in love with this over the summer and am waiting it out until it goes on sale…
5|L’Amour Coat, in olive (see it in olive here).  I love the olive color and the swingy trapeze shape.

Bottom Row, L-R:
6|Bees Knees Skirt – Super cute stripage at the bottom.
7|School Belle Top, color choice not certain yet (they’re both cute!). It’s just such a cute top.
8|Hopscotch Henley, in heather grey. I like the simpleness of this top, even though the flirty version is really cute too.
9|Curtsy Coat, in navy (I think). It’s made of “French Terry Fleece” which sounds to me like sweatshirt fabric – how cozy!
10|Collegiate Sweater, in navy? I just am lovin stripes.

My only beef with the Downeast Basics website?  I CAN’T FIGURE OUT HOW TO VIEW THE CLOTHES IN THE OTHER COLOR OPTIONS!! Does anyone else have this problem or am I just special?
Looking forward to more top tens….
