For the record, I think it should be known that:

1: I made like ten lists of songs by different artists before I picked this one.

2: Google never ceases to amaze me. You can type in an artist, then click on it, then get a list of all the songs by that artist. Sweet.

I seriously considered making these cool little finger puppets of the presidential candidates.  They make me laugh so hard.

Here are the patterns for McCain and Obama

Ok, so I kind of cheated and stole this from my friend’s blog, but it’s a really good thought.
Her parents share a wedding anniversary with President Monson and his wife so her mom sent an anniversary card and family photo to President Monson and his wife for their 60th wedding anniversary.

From her blog:
“President Monson sent a very thoughtful thank-you note to my parents thanking them for the kind letter they had sent him. He also wished my parents a happy anniersary and complimented our family photo. The entire letter was about three paragraphs in length. The part that touched me the most was that he signed it: ‘Your brother, Thomas S. Monson’. Such a humble ending to a letter and the way that he connected himself to us as a brother made me tear up a bit.

“Later that night my mom said, ‘You know, if President Monson can find time from his busy schedule to write a thank-you letter to someone he doesn’t even know, I wonder why people I know can’t find five minutes to send a thank-you note.'”

I always try to stay on top of thank you notes, but I’m a very bad organizer… But I can only imagine how busy President Monson is, and he can do it.  So, let’s always remember to take time to be grateful… that’s how I’m tying it in.

Maybe it’s because I was in student council, but I love homecoming.

Target has This Month’s Picks all homecoming themed.  These gummi bear lamps are my favorite.  Oh I want them so bad.  But 80 bucks for a night light won’t fly so well with Brad.

Brad and I are trying to read last spring’s conference before next conference… and we’re on like page 12.  But, from Russell M. Nelson’s talk, “Salvation and Exaltation,” he quotes the Doctrine and Covenants about how we can teach our children:
“. . . only by persuasion, by long-suffering, by gentleness and meekness, and by love unfeigned;
“By kindness, and pure knowledge, which shall greatly enlarge the soul without hypocrisy, and without guile –
“Reproving betimes with sharpness, when moved upon by the Holy Ghost; and then showing forth afterwards and increase of love toward him whom thou hast reproved, lest he esteem thee to be his enemy.”

I often think about how on earth you raise kids, and this is great little advice.  I figure I’ll have to practice, then I realized, this is a great way to treat people and our relationships we have already… It’s very kind and loving.

guess who’s going to the next round of playoffs?!?! that’s right. the los angeles dodgers swept the cubs in tonight’s game. my dad (the lucky dog) was there with kellen…
such a pleasant surprise for fans who are not used to this kind of excitement!

I got an email from Cath Kidston today (I’m on the mailing list), so in my boredom (or avoidance of responsibility), I checked it out.

Oh how I miss London.

Oh how I can’t afford to purchase these things (or ship them).

But oh how pretty they are.

The last one in the second row is her new London print (which I am coveting).

And my new favorite (for now) just might be the box floral.

Gotta love these bags!!  They are so cute…  Also she tweaker her website a little – but it’s still fabulous!

Any friend of mine who wants to sell off their organs and buy me one of these purses will automatically sky-rocket to the top of my friends list.  😉

More pictures of this coming soon – I’m too lazy to pull out my camera – but paint your nails black!  Get in the spirit!!

“Some [get] no further than accumulating these verbal snapshots. . . in the early, rough-draft stages, there are few things more pleasurable than bringing up a memory and transcribing it directly, like a wide-awake dream.” - Philip Lopate
