fall 2011
fall 2011 by horito featuring a wool tunic

Harry Potter, rustic influences, tartan plaids.

astronomy and stars (and maybe navy blue), Native American jewelry and bears, dolman sleeved tees in semi-tribal prints, Mexican blankets.

the idea of a bonfire with stories and legends.

Advertisements puts together some awesome boards. I love the color of these. Add some black and I’ll move in!

I realize I’ve been MIA for awhile. That would be due to the arrival of a baby last month. Nevertheless, I am still eying lots of clothes! My current need is loose fitting (due to the leftovers from the aforementioned pregnancy), button front (due to the new baby) tops.

I’m basically obsessed with this top from Gap.

But I can’t decide which color I like better. Naturally, I was drawn to the boldness of the mustard, but something about the nude color is calling my name as well, even though I hardly ever wear anything in a brown color family…

Which one should I get? Is one color more “me”?

This morning, I woke up yearning for fall.

Maybe it’s because I woke up early enough for it to be a little bit gloomy outside.

Maybe it’s because in the fall, I’ll be out of this state of alien-ness.

Maybe it’s because Brad (and baby) will be here.

Maybe it’s because fall brings cooler weather (which I’m sure I won’t be DYING for like I am now).

Maybe it’s because I always feel all back-to-school-y when August comes around regardless of my academic status.

Or maybe it’s because I’m dying for this sweater…

fall 2011

I love this Macy’s ad… horses, equestrian themes, sweet country vibes, and the token edgy details!

(I love the ribbons… they remind me of my elementary school science fair days!)

Dock scene = perfection. I want to look like that every day this fall.

It is my dream to style a shoot with a horse.

Don’t you want to go on vacation now?

Seriously… love it.

I was reading through Harper’s Bazaar’s Fall Fashion guide, and I fell in love with the Christian Dior RTW show.

John Galliano cleverly combines an equestrian vibe with a romantic, almost Victorian, vibe.  The funky hats (hello Mad Hatter – where can I get one?!), the flowy dresses, the over the knee boots (oooh now I’m DYING for a pair), and the preppy proper details make me fall in love with nearly every look.

I’m feeling another “theme” emerging this week since my life has been inspired in related clusters.  My fall looks are taking form as either Little Red Riding Hood inspired and/or equestrian inspired…

Here’s to the week of the horse.

(As a side note: The year of the horse will be in 2014.)
