This pretty dress from sublet clothing is on sale for $79 and would make a great gift/addition to my wardrobe.
If I weren’t saving money for Christmas, you’d better believe that I’d snatch this right up.

I’m on a hunt for those color changing spoons that used to come in cereal boxes (if you find one, let me know), and so I hopped on over to Fred Flare to see if they had anything of that nature.
They didn’t, but they did have these gems:
This hot Jonathan Adler cup and saucer – I LOVE IT! – Sold out in every color except yellow, which had only three left at the time of press….
This Table Saw Cake Cutter is freaking hilarious. I would love to cut my cakes with it!! Plus, it’s only $9! Sweet.
If anyone wants to make an order, I’m considering placing one next week (like the 16th)… If anyone wants anything, let me know. If we spend $75, we get free shipping!! The Japanese Talking Watches are on sale and all the non-sale items are 30% off until then… That includes these sweet items: iKareoke turns your iPod into kareoke, Serendipity Frozen Hot Chocolate, Pride and Prejudice with illustrations by Ruben Toledo (you might notice him from the Nordstrom ads), super cute Polaroid notecards, a Holga, the Indie Rock Coloring Book, and bunches of other fun stuff!!
Yay!
We’re coming up on our Cotton Anniversary!!
Last year, Britt blogged about this bedding that I was eying at Anthropologie and trying to justify buying (even this summer when it went on sale, I couldn’t bear to fork it out).
Instead, I was going to MAKE a similar (maybe) quilt/duvet cover/something for our Cotton Anniversary. Then I realized how many things I actually want to MAKE for Christmas this year, and how I usually overbook myself (which I think I already have), and then realized how much fabric I would actually need, and decided that I should just break down and buy it.
I’ve decided on the Organic Cotton Pin-Tuck Duvet cover at West Elm (best news = I can use Discover cashback there; I LOVE CASHBACK).
This is the white. Currently, all my bedding except the duvet cover is white. White sheets, *many* white pillowcases… Clearly this seems like the logical choice. Also, I LOVE the look of a white bed and how peaceful and clean it seems even when my room may be a tad bit messy.
But then I saw this one:
And thought, maybe cream is the way to go. But then I would need new sheets/it wouldn’t match, oh and I’d have to buy 8 new pillowcases (and since I’m picky about my pillowcases, they wouldn’ t come cheap).
Our bedroom is going to have a Martin + Osa feel… color scheme = navy + brown + white + warm oranges/yellows/candlelight colors… like a shwanky, rustic cabin resort. What I imagine Aspen is like. Or maybe Sundance. So white OR cream really works.
And so… either convince me that I should stick with white because it’s more economical, and I can buy navy sheets when we get a new bed thus making a super cute navy/white and/or white/white option, or convince me that the cream really does look that much better and who cares if my sheets don’t match for awhile because it REALLY LOOKS THAT GOOD.
At this point, I think I’m on the fence (or maybe leaning towards the white…. or not… or… yeah, I’m probably on the fence).
Jade showed me this couch on Tuesday, and I can’t help but lust after it.
Looks pretty sweet right? Oh just wait. It gets better.
What? It’s transforming?!
What?! Two people can now sleep here?! BALLIN!!
So far as I can tell, it’s made by bonbon trading in the UK, but I think it’s available in the US at Resource Furniture. I’ve read that it costs anywhere between 4k – 7k, but I have a feeling it will be 7k-9k.
So it looks like I need to get me a piggy bank.
I’ll also be taking donations.
And how it’s the only time of year that I love the air to be crisp and the snow to fall.
And how much I love shopping for presents and shopping in general.
And how much I love to wrap presents (this year’s packaging is going to be SO CUTE!! – last year’s was brown paper packages tied up with string).
And how next week I should try to get a seasonal job at either Anthropologie or Nordstroms or Macy’s or somewhere else that has fabulous clothes/things for me to buy.
And how I LOVE gift catalogs.
And how Nordstrom’s has such a cute gift catalog… which led to me having dress lust for this:
It all started with this…
Which contributed to my wanting this…
Then I watched this like three times while sewing…
and remembered how I loved this spooky look….
and this place….
which has me thinking about vampires….
which remind me of ed westwick.
these images may or may not be thought of in this exact chronologic order.
i found them all at different periods,
but this is how they came together in my mind today.
i’m currently loving the idea of a spookyromanticvintagegothic halloween.
(gothic like architechture, not like the high school kids who love hot topic)
Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis
The longest word in the dictionary.
Also a strain of lung disease.
And apparently “antidisestablishmentarianism” isn’t really even a word.
Check out how freaking awesome these pictures are. She’s a co-Harry Potter lover, fellow girls camp extraordinaire, and modest prom dress partner in crime from my high school days in the Vegas.
I wish I ended up as cool as she did.
That’s my favorite of all the pictures.
How cute is this little bouquet she made? Love it.
She brought all her props… which I feel entitles her to be a stylist.
I’m thinking she should style my next “family” pictures…
It definitely inspires me to want to be a stylist. And intimidates me. See more of these beauties at Yan Photography and Becky Earl Photography.
good news | I am learning how to budget.
bad news | This often results in me missing out on things I want. Like the super cute Mallory Suede Bootie (#3) that I realized I REALLY wanted at the same time they sold out.
good news | My motorcycle jacket at Express went on sale (and I had a coupon)! So I bought it. I now have this addition in my closet:
I haven’t taken the tags off while I decide if I really want it, or if I just liked coveting it. And while I figure out if it will work with anything in my wardrobe.
bad news | I found the CUTEST coat at Macy’s today, but I can’t justify buying it even though it’s like, 50% off.
(Please excuse my weirdy face and focus on how cute those toggles are!)
good news | The gladiator sandals I spied at American Eagle went on sale, and I bought them…
bad news | … then I got them just in time for it to get cold here.
good news | The sweater I’ve been eying at Martin and Osa finally went on sale (all sweaters at M+O are 50% off):
bad news | I spent fifteen minutes on the phone with the Town Square store this morning trying to hunt it down. It is not online anymore. And apparently, it is not available in ANY stores in ANY colors either.
Unfortunately, the positive sides of budgeting outweigh the negative, so I will continue to do it. ::sigh::
I love the concept behind Sweet Home Alabama – fashion designer with country roots (yes, that’s the concept of the movie to me).
Growing up, we used to spend weeks of the summer at my grandpa’s farm in Idaho. We’d play “house” i.e. nine orphans living in a fort (I can still remember where our parents’ “gravestone” was) with a four-wheeler as our car. I still love going back there, staring at the stars, lying by the firepit, chatting with my cousin about “the good old days.”
Apparently Karl Lagerfield loves me. His new collection nods to ladylike neutrals (which seem to be the trend for spring) set in a country farm background. Do I love them? Umm… that could be an understatement.
Yeah, those are my narrowed down favorites. See the whole collection here.
